In response to the need to identify newly enrolling students as English learners (ELs) during extended school closures, the Department has developed a provisional identification procedure. This online workshop will overview the procedures for provisionally identifying English learners (ELs) when continuity of education services are being delivered virtually and face-to-face screening is not possible due to extended school closures. Participants will have the opportunity to review the procedure and ask questions to best prepare them for continuing EL identification as required by state policy. Please be respectful to your colleagues from across the Commonwealth who may wish to attend one of the sessions and only register for one. There are a limited number of seats for each. These sessions will not be recorded.
Intended audience: any school district personnel responsible for the identification of English learners
