Team meetings occur in almost all schools; they go by a variety of names: Child Study; Student Support; Data Team, the collective intelligence of these collaborative team can effectively move an EL toward language proficiency. However, understanding how the data that each stakeholder brings to the meeting can be interpreted for English learners is a challenge. This session examines the expertise of school team members and explores how each team member’s data can be applied reliably to an English learner. Participants will interact as part of a team using EL data to examine progress, define need and develop interventions then explore how this can be applied in their school setting.
Intended Audience: All educators working with ELs; ESL teachers, content/grade level teachers, reading specialists, school counselors, speech and language clinicians, school administrators.
